Casino gambling conundrums: An indian perspective

This article examines reforms to casino gambling regulation and reviews whether a uniform pan-India approach to legalizing gambling and betting would be feasible. In wrestling with the question of a pan-India approach, the article delineates the complexity of the socioeconomic and political situation in Northeast India, which is embedded in armed conflict and drug trafficking and in doing so, distinguishes the pan-India approach to gambling and suggests that regulatory reform should emanate from the socioeconomic and political circumstances of the context in which they exist.
